I know this is a loaded question but I was still curious as to what everyone thinks is the most valuable or most popular impala?  I really want a 63 or 64,but I love the convertible, Hard top, and the wagon's. I'm not into the restored cars, I want a custom one. What should I look out for, are there problem area that get overlooked by most newbie's?  I've have had friends who say that bagging a car is bad or hard on alot of parts, like the frame, suspension etc.  I don't mean to offend anyone if that is wrong, it's just what I heard.  Is it better to "stoke" a 327 or just upgrade all together?  Lastly I am looking to drop some cash for the right ride, anyone know of a custom that is for sale?  I looked through the forum, but wanted to see if anyone knew of any other cars out there.  Thanks in advance.

Hey I my self thought the same question of what impala to buy from the 62-63-64. They all look like the same but have different body lines and front and back grills. Now for me convertible is always the more wow factor and of course more valuable and popular. Now when it comes to value its what someone will pay for it. There is more a market for complete restos and if the custom is very bad ass it would sell also. But I guess you have to ask your self if your building it to keep or sale. I bought mine a 1964 impala convertible to fix how I wanted it. I choose the 64 becuase when every they talked about an impala in rap videos it was always pimping in the 64 and thats what most refer to is the 64. Now when it comes to bagging it depends what kind of set up is in it. Was it to play hard or just raise and lower it. I have bags on mine and only thing I did was drill a few extra holes though out it to run air lines but you would never no unless i raise or lower it that there are on. And it has never hurt anything on my car. Now hydros are a different story they can tear up your car. And when it comes to the engine i have the orgial 327 in mine and it gives me problems sometimes and it would problay be better  if i had a more newer engine but the value is to keep it as og as possible if you can. I live in Georgia and could not find a impala  for about a year i searched every where and end up finding one at the bottom of florida of craigslist. but you have cragislist autotrader layitlow.com oldtime cars   plenty of sites to look for a old car . hope this help at all
