I think many people have voiced this thought and concern. It's a shame that LRM hasn't responded approprately to the original readers who first provided them with the purchasing revenue to ensuingly advance the growth of their publication.

I'm sorry 68luva, but what I think of when I think blacks in lowriding is Dr.Dre videos.  Thats about what blacks have contributed.  
When Lowriding first came to be, it was an image of pride, and artisty from a culture look down upon by most all other cultures.  It was about respect and honor, and a thumb of the nose to those who said we were nothing better than second class citizens with crappy old cars.  We Chicanos showed the world then and we do it still to this day.  We are the so called second class citizens who everyone wants to be like, but no one wants to give credit to.  So no hommie, we started this with Pride, eveyone else is just along for the ride

I agree Gangsta's "Santana" should of been up at the top with the rest of them but it wasnt for some reason or another,but thats the past,It doesnt matter what color you are,it comes down to the cars anything else is bull droppings..Leave it at that....and blacks,whites,yellows,browns have all impacted the lowrider game in one positive way or another....Any one that thinks its a one color sided game should have there head examined....

I 2 agree with grumpy!!  u drew the race lines so now la raza gotta tell the truth, and that can sometimes be hard 2 swallow. black this black thay, 40 acres and a mule!!! stick with ur "Dubbs" magazine and stop whining 2 us bout ur buulcrap! LA RazA has enough problems trying to keep our head up 4 not only not getting the credit 4 lowriding but a million other things we do 2 keep this country moving in a positive direction so our future raza can have a better life and finally get the credit thats been due 4 a long time... 68luva, agree with you partially about the Dr Dre reference.  The rest of the US didn't catch on to low riding until Snoop & Dre put it on the map but Snoop & Dre grew up in LA where blacks had been lowriding for generations ese...

Es verdad, even back in the day when I used to buy Lowrider magazine as a kid, you'd see pictures of blacks brotha's with low lows...I used to hang that *** up on my wall just like everyone elses rides.   Anyway, blacks in California and probably texas have been part of the low riding culture for a long time.  My older cousin tells me about the lowrider he had in the 60's.  I Los Angeles, having a lowrider was a G thang and it didn't matter if you were black or mexican.

When I grew up in the 70's when the movie "Boulevard Nights" hit the theaters....people went nuts over lowriders in NoCal even though everyone was already pushing them.      Be proud of your Raza but it's ok to give other people props.   That's what America is all about.  

i have to disagree with you all about it being ok for the negros to be in the mag do you see any mexicans in the bet or essense mags i dont think so! were stupid enough to share our one and only thing we have with every and any one this used to be for the gente only and should continue to be!  keep dr dre and snoop dogs out they want to show their copy cat *** let them do it in bet mags! yes they have been it the mags for many years but its because we allow it.  This doesnt mean your prej just means this is ours and always has been keep it that way!!!!!!!!!!  

No ifs ands or butts. Lowriding was started by Hispanics, all other cultures have come to appreciate it. My race is indian and i love and adore lowriders. My dream car is a 2 door coupe 63 chevy impala. Much love to everyone that loves lowriders !!!  

First off much respect to the real lowriders and those of any race creed or color who respect the laws and legacy of Lowriding....La RAZA,Chicano's,Mexican whatever or whoever it is Lowriding is about a whole lot more than color! Those brown persons who have responded with malice and hatred in your words should really be ashamed Take alook at your own history and see how many afican were involved with it's birth the Olmecs (do some research) for instance. If we continue to let the media and those individuals who have nothing but fear of us divide us and we will continue to fight and argue about something so senseless as who started lowriding! lowriding has been around since 1930 both races had cars and both races customised them to fit their needs. Hispanic had their style and african americans had theirs, each one borrowed from the other and a culture was born. we have alot more in common than we think...live,respect and lowride till the wheels fall off...Og Marlo  

and before I forget...I credit the hispanic culture,La raza, Chicano's with doing great things for Lowriding Crazy multi-pattern paint,but white men like george barris was doing paint so do that mean he had a hand in lowriding or The Gone but not forgotten rat fink "Ed Roth" all throughout history this has happened It's great to know where you come from but it's a shame when you don't know and you base what you say on what you interpret from others who really have no clue except hatred for ones color...and to the brother who started this tread. It doesn't matter who started this thing all that matters is that we stay involved and continue to evolve it into something that can be shared by all and admired by many. This sport keeps youth out of trouble both Black and Hispanic. The real lowriders have a true purpose- unity through the love of cars and those who support it.  To Lowridermagazine and it's staff Man up Stop helping to divide the masses with all the La raza Only talk sure they have had a large hand in this sport but it's really much larger than that...The guys who claim la raza -Do they have rides or are they just ridas who wish to have a legit say in the lowrider world? Build a ride and join a club and represent the right way not with hatred. Teach one to reach one remember that all races.
