So as Unique Tire & Wheels in Sacramento.  Though we love Lowrider Magazine this is the third and final time we have purchased from a company advertised in Lowrider. As I am aware it is not the responsibilty of Lowrider to ensure good faith purchases.  I would hope that Loyal Lowrider fans would come first. Out of all three purchases not one went as it was suppose to.  This time I really got screwed.  I do advise all individuals to report to the BBB you can do this via internet it only takes a few minutes and with the information given to the BBB hopefully something can be done about these fraudulant companies. If Lowrider Magazine is as Loyal to their Fans as their fans are to them, I believe Lowrider Magazine should apply stipulations and sanctions on those companies for utilizing their magazine to benefit in fraudulant schemes and that fail to provide legit services to the Lowrider fans purchasing wheels from articles supplied through the magazine.  Again it upsets us to know that these scams are continuing to go unoticed. I AM ASKING LOWRIDER to now step in and help YOUR LOYAL FANS. Again, I say, it is very important to report these companies to their local BBB lets get a class-action lawsuit going for all who have incurred damages! If you really want to be amused look up the companies selling wheels in Lowrider on the BBB website, bring your lunch you will be awhile.  If only I had done my research.  Though I do put that much faith into the magazine.

Hey well i`m sorry to hear this happend to you tru a LOWRIDER magazine, but i dont think they realy care, since they get paid for ADDS on the magazine. If the were to do something about it, will mean that they will loose revenue and they cant have it. You got to remember this is not the same magazine from back in the day. This is now a big corporation and like any corporation they dont care for the little people ie you and I. I had been a loyal LRM fan since 1996 and had all the issues up to 2003 stoped, and then pick it up recently Jan/07 and then I remember why I stop. I dont know how far back your LRM collection goes, but pick up an old issue and feel how thick it is,then count the adds on the issue. see I am holding right now the last LRM issue that i will ever buy, (I wil still pick and go tru it at the store but never buy it). I am looking at May 08 issue nice cover,there is 4 adds from cover to EDITORS LETTER SECTION, and then another add,flip the page is the LRM Inf,another add,NEW PRODUCTS section plus add same on the next page.Then is ON THE SCENE sec wich is only 3 pages long and it has 3 pages of adds in between,I could keep on  going, but i think you get it by now, see this single issue has 142 pages and 82 of them are adds for rims that dont go with lowriders like DUBs,and dick pills and more rims, the other 60 pages are really short articles with adds on them.There is very little pictures of cars or show coverage.There is morebad things on this issue, but I just cant keep on. I guess i went off  topic but i had to let it out. Buying LOWRIDER MAGAZINE is like getting a rims brouchure from the pep boys, and i will not  buy it any more, if you think about it they are big now so they have their own printing company and they get paid  for the adds to be put on the magazine and they still get to seel it for $4.99 when actually is worth to them like $1.25 or maybe less if you remember this used to cost  1 bola. If you read this i appreciate a comment or email please no hate mail since this is how i fell.

Lowrider is on some BS for letting the adds get posted, I got ripped off by KWIK FIX TIRES out of citrus heights cali, 916-729-1666 , these guys lie to you on the price, and once they get half your money they jack the price up and then wont give you a refund. Arthur, Mecca, Rodger, Jamal, and Alex over there are all scammers dont trust them. If someone can help me out with these crooks I would appreciate it, chetbrns@yahoo.com. Also I filed with the BBB and they did nothing to help me out , Kwik fix tires has 43 unanswered claims against them. If this company really sells wheels I hope a 24" falls off the top shelf and hits one of those fools in the head flush.  

I think it is truly sad how LRM has changed over the years. From a true lowridin magazine about the life of ridin and the rides. To a big corparate magazine that just cares about cashing in then really about the fans and how they are getting ripped off.
LRM should be ashamed.

I understand what you guys mean. Kwik Fix Tires has gotten over on me to. I urge everyone to spread the word to anyone looking to order rims out of the magazine, not to do buisness with this company. I ordered some rims and they quoted me a rate of $1299.00 for everything. I sent them $700.00 and was going to do the rest on COD. I waited for a week to receive my shipment...it never came. Called the company and they advised me that the order was all packed and ready to go out, but that the UPS man was behind due to the 4th of July holiday and had not yet come to pick it up. So I allowed it a few more days...I guess UPS was still behind because my order was still just sitting there. Waited a few more days and called back to try to get a tracking #, I was then told that they shipped me 3 rims (I asked what I was supposed to do with 3 rims...I don't know..if I'm not mistaken..I think my car needs 4) But anyway, he said that the 4th rim was scratched when they took it out of the package and they did not want to send it to me in that condition, so they shipped 3. The 4th would be in stock in about a week. There was no tracking order available to give me at this time. They would call me back when one was available. I never got a call back. I waited a few days and called back for the tracking # and was told (after 20 minutes on hold, w/out being checked in on, and no hold music might I add, that the rims were never shipped out. They needed me to send them more money for the locks, bolts, mounting and balancing!!!! I had been calling on this for weeks, and just days earlier I was told everything was ready to be backed. I could not believe that they expected me to send them more money!!! I told them I was not sending another dime and that I wanted to cancel my order. It was them that they told me about the 25% penalty for cancellation. They want to charge me a penalty even though they did not follow through on what they were supposed to do! This is still something that I am trying to deal with. I save my phone records and to this date I have called this company over 50 times. I document each call and the person that I speak to. I have filed a complaint with the Better Buisness Bureau. The company has until 8/12/08 to respond. Their report on the BBB website is horrible. They actually do not even recommend that you do buisness with this company. I only wish that I had of seen this prior to sending them the money. I called the buisness today..they asked for my name, and put me on hold for over 20 mintutes..never checked back in with me, then the line went dead on their end. I called right back and got no answer..After about 4 more calls, from diff. phone numbers, I finally got someone to answer (I don't know if they were screening the calls or what) but the guy could not find my information in the system and said the owner was busy with other customers. I explained the situation to him and that I have filed a complaint with BBB and that someone there needs to talk to me about my money. Since he could not find my order, and his computer was down (how convienant) he would pull up my information, and send me a refund on Monday (8/11/08) ..I have been told this before, so I am not optomistic, and I am not willing to let them keep 25% of my money for doing nothing but stressing me out! I will keep you guys posted...If I don't get it resolved, I am going to have to hire an attorney. I know it will cost money to do this, but to me it's just to make a point. They cannot screw people over like this and get away with it. I am appaled that Lowrider allows this shady company to be in the magazine. The worst part of all of this was that this was supposed to be a birthday gift to my boyfriend, and it turned out to be a total nightmare.  

Wow, the same thing has happened to a friend of mine. The sad thing is that YOU should alway run a BBB check on a company. We are living in very shady times. Before is ordered from THE EASTWOOD COMPANY,19464 i ran a check and found they have been around for a long time with no complaints, and you know what they are excellent. They have great customer service and phone/web order options for quick reliable service.  

It's needs to be about pleasing the readers or customers. But they (lrm )has forgotten who really
keeps them growing and getting bigger. Keep the buyer
or customer happy, that's what its about pleasing you
and i the consumer, not the advertizing agency. Its
not about the almighty dollar, its about making sales
to consumer and keeping them happy, satisfied with
what we have purchased. If a company advertize's a
product and doesn't stand by it, kick out of the maga-
zine.

Man no one purchase from wheel and designs audio, that *** is a scam! They keep changing their number and will not answer the phone. I'm going to Stockton,Ca. to see if the place exists.  

Hi, just an update to my previous posts. I reported kwik fix tires to my local FBI office. I filed a complaint explaining the situation. I have been working with a very nice detective who got them to send me refund checks for a total of $675.00. I lost $25.00, but I am ok with that. It beats the 25% cancellation fee they were trying to charge me. Thing is, when I went to cash the checks, I learned that Kwik Fix did not even have enough money in their checking account to cover them. So they were of no use. I contacted the company back..they were not helpful, told me I needed to wait until they tell me I can cash them...I don't do the whole wait thing well, so I called the detective back. He demanded that they send me the money back either by certified check, or money gram (the same way I sent it to them). They issued me a refund via money gram. They provided me with a reference number. I called money gram and it is valid, so I guess my case is resolved...It only took me 3 months!!!(sad). But anyway, I have no doubt that if I had not of reported them to the FBI, I would still be trying to get my money back, and maybe never would get it back.
