A little while ago I went to go check out some 5 window Chevy trucks for sale that my brothers friend found out about. The guy who owns them also has a few other cars there and he is getting rid of most of them... He wants to clean up his yard. Anyway I seen a 1977 or '78 Lincoln Town Coupe... It has some rust in the usual places also the passenger side door is caved in and the rear bumper is like all twisted up, didnt really check it out much besides that cuz it was muddy there that day. On the plus side it has the huge moon roof that bassicly makes up the whole roof forawrd from the vinyl and also has black interior. I have $3675 bucks for a first car I'm thinking on just putting it back to stock possibly Air Bag it but probley not, wire wheels, pin stripes ect ect. I would just like to get your general opionion about this car maybe give me some idea's on some problem area's on that perticular car which would be awesome.
Thanks Alot, Daniel

i wouldnt get em i mean sound like it needs alotta work!! its a 77 or 78 u said? its not that old so there still some around and some in better condition and cheaper too. id be better to get an unmolested car if your going stock because if you get a molested car well you might find suprises u might not like. for ex: i have a 48 aerosedan that i bought outta state not that long ago and well i only saw pictures of it and well the guy said it had a hole in the trunk well i bought it and well its a rusty one and the hole is not an easy fix. but i put alotta money in it and it stiil looks the same but shes my baby now and i wont sell her!!!!!! hehhe yah i got attached to her but a solid fleetline would been better!!
by the way, 5 window p/u? were, and how much?

Thx for the reply dude I'm still gonna take a 2nd look at the lincoln and see what shape it is really in. Dude you wont belive these chevy 5 windows there is 3 of them 1953, '54 and '55 and he wants $1200 for them all the 53' and 55' are in not bad but from my point of view in rough shape but to a guy who can shape and weld metal it would probley be a peice of cake lol. but the 54' is in like crazy awesome shape from what I can see and there are a ton of parts too there is a full front clip just laying under a thin peice of wood I was like. The last time me and my bro's went there he said he would like to have them outta here within' the month but that was like a couple months ago so... Ill get an update on them tomorrow if the weather is good outside.
Adios

Daniel, I use to have a 78 Baby Lincoln and when it ran it was sweet. It also had a moon roof. What I can say is, the computer seems to always have problems. As Chuco said, yo can find one for cheap now adays. I personally like Impalas and Bombs....but for your first car, well it's up to you. What ever you do, have fun and do it safely.....Happy riding.

Yeah I agree I'am alot bigger fan of the Impala's then a Lincoln of some sort. Actully there is a '59 down town like 5 blocks away from me.. I took a look at it and its in a whole hell of alot better condition then the Lincoln. I hav'nt ask the people who own it yet if they wanna sell it but they would probley want $5000 or better for it. But ill ask em' one of these dayz ya never know...

GET THE 59! get a loan if you have to!! i prefer 80's cadillacs to classic impalas but a car as rare as that cant be passed up.

Yeah maybe I should get the 59 I know my auntie would loan me some cash in a second but I wouldnt have a steady way of paying her back I dont have a summer job... All I could really do is mow her lawn for like 2 or 3 years till I get a job lol. But yeah Imma ask about it for surely this week. I actully way on eBay about a week ago and seen just the steering wheel from one of them was going for like 280 bucks. Man on my budget of 3700 I'd probley just get the doors, hood and seats lol.

Could probley sell the 59 for more depends on what they wanna sell it for though. My brother Travis actully had a 78 Lincoln Towncar he parted it out and sold the parts for almost 1200 bucks so... Theres a possibility that I could resale or part it or for what I paid or more. But yeah I'm gonna ask bout the 59 tomorrow...maybe go for a drive past it again tonight just to check it out one more time
Adios homie
