first if kids listened more, maybe they would learn something. LIL use to be good back in the day, but a lot of the older guys left because all the younger cats thought they knew more or wouldnt take what one said to account. hopefully they will get back on the net one day. been on lots of boards including hot rod and chevy boards, only one or two still have older guys posting.
i never came in here and insulted anyone from the start. havent dropped f bombs or called anyone an ass. i was come at as "newbie" and what not. i give youngsters plenty of time until they close their ears and eyes off. talk to plenty of kids online on other forums about anything they like (which most of the time isnt cars) i never shot this guys idea down, i gave my thoughts on why he should not do that to his car. i was blessed enough to learn how to build cars from people considered to be knowledged and the best. i just try to pass along those standards. i think things got a little twisted. im not out to get anyone's respect on here, im only sharing what i have learned. one can either read and think about what i said, or just not listen. far few cars now are being built with quality in mind and its a shame.
if you do one of your ideas, go with something like the collegen leather and inserts (if you have to). i would go suede but if you must do designer, i guess its better then button tuck.

Well if youre in the busness of fixing cars up 2 resale them, than be concerned with what u do to your car. But most people that are "personalizing" their ride dont and shouldnt care about the resale affects of their customization. Like most people, I think you should do what you think looks good, and what you can afford.

"Newbie", coming from a 16 year old kid with no license, builds models/ hangs out in the model section and tries to give advice from no experience. Forums are here to HELP people based on a person's experience and knowledge. If one doesn't have any experience dealing with a subject, they shouldnt post as if they know what they are talking about. I haven't been a "newbie" for a long time. Wish i was, maybe then i wouldnt be as picky as i am with cars. If you button tuck that ride here is what is going to happen: 1) going to waste your money 2) waste your time (which i hate to do more then anything) 3) not improve the value of a car that is considered a classic 4) not going to be comfortable in 5) not get respect from a good portion of your peers. People say they dont care, they do what they like. I do what i like, but nothing is better then having the respect of people doing what you do.
i think people need to start putting up explanations behind their comments. ive seen far few lowriders whove used "designer" material look good. Have had stock and custom interior in my cars, including one of my old caprice rags. not just about the material. go to a respected upholsterer. Let him order your material from places he know are legit. i would not buy any material online. Better off spending the money into getting a nicer top made of canvas, which runs about 30-36 dollars a yard. not cheap but looks nice, and they have new bright "Hot Rod" colors that might match whatever you need.
ps a lot of the style goes on what you see in your area. I grew up in southern cali and have seen some weird things in the states i moved to for work. Why i said Respect is a big thing for me, cause if you build something with swivels, button tuck in california for a customer or for yourself, going to get a little embarrassed.
fuck u chavala i know what the *** im takin bout i dont hang around the model section alot most of my post have been made in the general discussion section but u dont know that cuz u a NEWBIE in here u need to take yo fake ass back to LIL and i aint like these other kids muthafucka i know bout all kinds of *** u dont know nothin bout me so go *** yourself i dont care where u go but u aint welcome here startin *** with a 14 year old what the *** u supposed to be showin us younger kids how to do stuff but u want to act like a *** so *** off i hope someone beats your ass

DAMN THIS IS SAD I DONT KNOW HOW I MISSED THIS. AN OLD GUY PICKING A FIGHT WITH A KID.
IF YOUR BUILDING A LOWRIDER YOUR GONNA LOSE MONEY NO MATTER WHAT! IF YOU EVER SELL IT YOU'LL NEVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK. ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS WASTING YOUR TIME, IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, YOU LEARN FROM THAT MISTAKE AND AVOID DOING IT AGAIN. THATS CALLED EXPERIENCE. IF ITS A LOWRIDER THE VALUE OF THE CAR ISNT ANY HIGH ASS PRICE, YOU CANT SELL A LOWRIDER FOR GOOD MONEY. ONCE ITS A LOWRIDER ITS BASICLLY [censored] CUZ IT HAS A POOR RESALE VALUE. BUT THAN AGAIN YOU CANT FIGURE THAT OUT BY FIXING JUST A BUNCH OF G BODIES AND CAPRICES. NOT GETTING RESPECT IS NOT WHAT ITS ABOUT. IF YOUR IN THIS FOR RESPECT THEN YOUR JUST SAD. IF YOUR SO OLD AND KNOW YOUR *** YOUD KNOW THAT BACK IN THE DAY LOWRIDING WAS ALL ABOUT THE CRUISING AND HAVING A GOOD TIME. NOT BEING A SHOW OFF AND TRYING TO IMPRESS ANYBODY. AND ITS YOUR CAR DO WHAT U WANT WHO GIVES A PHUCKK WHAT OTHERS THINK CUZ SOME OF THOSE "PEERS" ARE JUST ENVIOUS JEALOUS HATERZ!
P.S. PHUCK I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN CALI, I'VE BEEN IN THE LOWRIDER CULTURE ALL MY LIFE. I MAY BE YOUNG BUT MY KNOWLEDGE COMES FROM MY RELATIVES WHO WERE LOW RIDERS BACK IN THE DAY. REPECT IS FOR SHOW OFF AND CAR CLUBS THAT THINK THERE BETTER THAN EVERY ONE ELSE. LOWRIDING AND CUSTOMIZING YOUR CAR IS WHAT ITS ABOUT. BEING UNIQUE, AND EXPRESSIN YOURSELF WITH YOUR CAR.
