The one sceam I would realy like to see if someone can do on photoshop is sorta a "Thank You" to my family and all who have ever been in some sort of milatary branch in the past and present.  I found a realy cool old Pin up in my Grandpa's old trunk from when he was in the milatary (ww2) just after he died, and we where going through his stuff. (about 8 years ago)  I would love to have this pin up done on eather the hood or trunk of my car (air brush) and then try to do something like an taterd American flag going down the side of the car, as if I drove through it and it has been stuck ther blwoing in the wind for over 20 years... (beat up and torn)  The way I have it pictured in my head, it would be realy cool..  But geting the message acrost to an artest is going to be hard.. (who paints it.) And I know it would be a LOT of work!!

I still say bay leaf and cream if you go two tone with matching guts, and 14 inch supremes with wide whites

I am not going with the little rims on my Monte...  I plan to keep the 20's on it, since this car can tuck them with out any problems.  And I am going for a "Lowrider with a Twist" look on it, hence the rims, and hopefully the paint soon.

I just orderd the set up to help the Monte get lower in the rear end today from work (at a major discount) so hope to have that installed in the next few weeks.  It should drop it an extra 2 or more inches.  I also plan on putting on my short, block hugger headers on it, and have a buddy run a new exhost on it that will alow it to breath better, as well as let me install the Flaim Throwers I was given by a shop here close to me.  They sponsored the kit for me (so I got it free.)  I also will be doing windo tint in it as soon as the weather gets a little warmer.

I am still not 100% on the paint for it.  I am just sooooo scared that what ever I pick will not turn out the way I like it.  I like a lot of colors out there on the market, but don't wont to go too bold of a color or sceam, but at the same time would like to make the car stand out from other first generation Monte Carlo's out there.  I see a lot of them in black, green, blue, red, white, and brown. and don't wont to do a commen color you see on this generation of Monte.  I like the pink idea, but don't know if it will look good on the body and it's curves it has.

This is DRIVING me NUTS!  I wish I could just find a color and sceam I like and don't have second thoughts about it.

If any one can find pictures or can do photo shop, I wellcome any ideas you may have...

That sounds like your typical hot rod not a low low. Have you seen the movie Boulavard Knights you might like it? Rent it from Blockbuster or Hollywood one of them have it.

Like I said Before, I am not doing your typical Lowrider,  It is my own mix.  Since I would like to be diforent from everyone out there.  My Monte is going to be a Lowrider with a Twist... Sort of a new age Lowrider, not the old school lowrider.  My other old car I am going old School Lowrider on it.  It is a 1962 Ford Galaxie.  I will post pictures of it as soon as I get some.

I have not seen Boulavard Knights, but I may see if I can find it, and see if it is any good...

You wont be able to compete at lowrider shows with it. From what it sounds like you are building a straight up hot rod which is cool I build rods too and everything else under the sun but just because it sits low does not earn the badge lowrider and definately not futuristic that would be a newer body style with new ideas like, solar charged batteries, interior made frome natural organics, nitrogen filled tires etc. The coolest *** Ive seen come out is body panels made from corn

Every one has thier own opinion on what makes a lowrider.  I am makeing mine to how I like it.  Witch is a cross between lowrider/lowrod...  The way I see it any car, truck, van or motorcycle that can lay frame is a lowrider (in my eyes).  I know people who have hidros and 13x7's, and they still can't lay frame.

As for me competing in Lowrider's show... I can, by thier posted rules... I would fit under Street Custom, since I have more then 3 modifactions... And by around 2008 I will fit under Mild Custom in the lowrider show, since I will have more done to it by then.

I am planing on trying to make it to thier show this year that will be in my town, so have been doing my home work.

Plus, I have already placed a few times under lowrider classes at a few diforent shows. (top 3 where awarded.) as well as 1st for best unfinished.

Here is a picture of my 1962 Ford Galaxie.  All I have realy done so far on it is a little body work, a toon up, and new tires.  It has a long way to go yet. It is a straight 6 with a 3 on the tree. It also has 61,000 origanl Miels on it.

So as you can see, I have 2 cars I am working on at the same time, gets expensive, and takes a lot of time after work.

Your Galaxie could pass as a lowrider, but your monte is still a hotrod until you take off them big wheels and get some white walls. Our Avalanche that is "sponsored" by "Orange County Choppers"  sits almost frame, but even that is not considered a lowrider, even when it sat on 22in wires

OK....  Now I am going to "QUOTE" Lowrider Magazine

Quote:

Today the Lowriding scene is diverse with many different cultures, vehicle makes and visual styles. Lowrider style varies greatly from region to region.  A Lowrider is a car, truck, van, motorcycle or bike, of any era, which has had its suspension system modified in any way so that it rides as low to the ground as possible.  Most Lowriders in the past have had small wire rims with white wall tires, so they could be “tucked” into the wheel wells and get the car lower to the ground.  But some of the new Lowriders of today have large rims that can be “tucked” as well, with new and updated technologies to help the Lowriders achieve this.  Drop spindles, c-notches, body drops and much more, all aid in this.  Some but not all Lowriders also have hydraulics and air ride so they can change the ride height as well as do a number of fancy moves such as dancing, hopping, and three wheel motion.

So yes, my Monte IS a Lowrider...  And soon my Galaxie will be a Lowrider as well...  Although, it is already low, and it has not had a thing done to it yet. (I have air ride on the way for it.)  The old springs are just worn out.
