Hallo ,
I'm Michaël from Belgium. I drive a vw POLO from 96,and i bought some wire wheels. There started the problems . I bought some FWD hundred spokes for my polo. i just bought the rims because i had some tires that i still could use. The wire wheels are from China i think. i went to 5 tire centers en they tried al to put the tire on the rims but no one succeeded.apparently the problem was with the kitting of the wheels. At the spokes the kit was to thick to put the tire over it.They put almots 10 bar on the wheel , and nothing helped. Some we had no other chose than to sand a litte bit of ,of the Kit so that it was not thick. than we could put the tires on the rims , but the problems wore not yet over they only started.I put the wheels under my ride and it looked beautiful !!!!! but after driving 30 KM i stopped and looked at my tires and the were deinflating ,....so now i'm driving back with my old wheels. Is this because the wheels are of low-quality ? Is this a common problem ? Are Daytona wire wheels better ? Hase anyone information about these problems , why ?
(sorry for my english but i tried...!)
thanks

Hey wazzup!!?
Its good to hear the lowrider movement has moved overseas but i know what ur problem is.i bet ur happy huh? well any ways. see they way spokes are designed make it tricky to put on the tire. see what u did is u tore the silicon cover inside the rim. the purpose of the silicon is to block air to get out off the rim through the edges where the spoke meets the rim. it got tore up when they were trying to put in the tire with the bars.. its scratched.what u have to do is either get new rims and have an experienced person put them on,someone who has dealt with spokes before. or have the rims patched up. so either way its a bad situation. post back if u read it

Hey WHAAAAAZZZZZZZZUUUUUUUPPPP ?
thank for the answer!but... I brought my rims and tires already to 2 very expperienced people and they al say the same the kit at the spokes is to thick to put the tire over. They both have already more than 10 years of experience so they know what they are doing ! But It seems more a problem of quality ? I also had a second problem and that was when i drove the car above forty miles/h , that my steering wheel started shaking like terrible... (and with the car is everything ok because when i put my old rims under i had no more problems !?) ![]() Is there such a big dirfference between chinese manufactured 100 spokes and DAYTON wires ? Is the weight the same ?What is the difference ?
Thanks !!

Hey first question would be have they dealt with lowriders rims before? have they dealt with spokes? they might know about rims but spokes is different. have someone look at the thread of silicon inside of the rim.you cant use brute force on spokes. and the reason why your car shakes is because ur guys messed with the design of the rim by shaving off the edges. gets new rims, your screwed

thanks for the answer man ! but the people who did it have already 8 years of experience and the know what they are doing (i hope ) so that can't be the problem i own already 8 wire wheels and the new ones have the same problem no-one can get the tire over the rim ! about the shaking of my steering wheels , how can the inside of a rim be the cause of that , the wheels where balanced afterwards and then they were ok ? .....

Wire rims are a lot of work,it takes alot of muscle to slide in the tire.u need exerienced people who have dealt with spokes, its a different rim.understand it.just because its a rim doesnt mean its the same.i hate getting flats because of that

of course there is a difference, daytons have more popularity thy have been doing it for a long time.the weight doesnt come any different.they have the same blueprint.think of it as brand name jeans.do you happen to know the name of the brand you got.and what have you done so far as in trying to get them working?

you can have a wheel company send you the tires mounted and balanced then all you have to do is air them up with nitrogen

i have a few questions for you and maybe i can help you out. i work at a tire shop and i've put 100 spokes on every vehicle i've ever owned since i was 16. are the rims standard or reversed? when they balanced your tires did they set up thier machine for an inside bead balance only and not both inside and outside? that will make a differece because when your doing the inside only you have to put more wieght to make up for the outside. for the leaking spoke silicon don't worry your not [censored]. i've done this many times. there's two things you can do. the easiest being to tube the tires. the best thing to do is grind off all that silicon with a wire wheel on a bench grinder so it is all off. i mean all of it. then go to the local hardware store and resilicon the spokes. the last thing is if your rims are reversed your tire guy needs to turn the rim upside down on his tire machine so the inside of the rim is facing up and clamp the rim from the outside so you don't scratch it up. last but not least use lots and lots of soap.
