Hey everyone, FYI this is a long post...In my last post I was gonna buy a 91 Caprice with a 10 switch, 2 pump, 4 bat(beginner)setup that didn't work. For $1100, I had to do it!....Daytons(not fakes), TVs, everything, and I didn't know anything about hydraulics but that I always wanted them! Lowering cars suspension without hydros gets boring after a while! Anyways I bought it from a kid that bought it from the original guy that installed them that knew what was good. The seller didn't know what he had! I got into the hydros and got the front working in about 2 hrs...amazing what a bad ground will do! The problem is that the rear pump is spinning (a 2 sec hit of the switch and it smokes but still is trying to work but sounds like theres no pressure but there is fluid in the resivoir) which would mean the solenoids are good and poss a bad motor or that the shocks are causing the prob. The shocks(hydraulic) in the rear are fully extended in the trunk and there is a plastic grocery bag in the back with 2 steel donuts and 2 other round steel parts with a tiny hole in the top and are not flat (4 parts total). I have learned from my online research what the donuts are used for but have not been able to get a good shot or picture of what goes on in the rear underneath the trunk compartment.I NEED to drive this ride on the street but want it done right! I've seen tons of Caprices with 22s etc. ridin around but the 13s with the juice is all I'm into! Help me represent the real lowrider community up here in Rochester, NY! I'm a newbie to hydros but not to slammin rides! Any input is greatly appreciated!

I had a similar problem in my caddy. After finally taking it all apart again I found that I had sheared the pump shaft clean in half. It wasn't noisy or anything so I assumed I had a dump stuck open. Boy was I wrong. If you still havn't found the problem take apart the pump, I'll bet you find the problem...

take the oil tank off then take the pumphead off. you could have broken the key youll see it its a metal bushing kinda loooks like a socket. or its the pump head seal which kinda looks like a skateboard bearing. both enexpensive.
